Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to the NEW FOUR-YEAR BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B.Ed) DEGREE PROGRAMME in the Forty-Six (46) Public Colleges of Education in Ghana for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Admission Requirements

WASSCE / SSSCE Qualification Requirements for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme Applicants
To qualify for admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme, applicants must meet the following general requirements:

 

For WASSCE Holders:

– Achieve Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects.

– These subjects should include Three (3) Core subjects, specifically English Language and Core Mathematics.

– Additionally, attain Three (3) Elective subjects that are relevant to the chosen course of study.

 

For SSSCE Holders:

– Obtain Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects.

– Among these, ensure Three (3) Core subjects, notably English Language and Core Mathematics.

– Also, secure Three (3) Elective subjects pertinent to the desired course of study.

 

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advance Level Applicants

Applicants must:

 

have passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better).

have credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subjects (for Science students)

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

a. Visually Impaired:

 

i. Applicants with WASSCE results should have Credit Passes (A1-C6) in Two (2) CORE subjects including English Language and Social Studies and Three (3) relevant elective subjects.

 

ii. Applicants with SSSCE results should have Passes (A-D) in Two (2) CORE subjects including English Language and Social Studies and Three (3) relevant elective subjects.

 

Online Application Procedure:

Payment and Application Process for College of Education Admission

Applicants are required to initiate a payment of Two Hundred and Thirty Ghana Cedis (GHC 230.00) into the Colleges of Education-Ghana Account. This payment can be made at any branch of the following bank nationwide:

Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited.

Additionally, payment can be facilitated through various mobile money wallets, including Tigo Cash, Vodafone Cash, Airtel Money, and MTN Mobile Money. Simply dial the short code *924*8# from any network to proceed with the payment.

Upon successful payment, applicants will receive the following information:

– A Personal Identification Number (PIN).
– An Admission Application Serial Number.
– The Admission Website Address: http://coeportal.edu.gh

Using the provided PIN, applicants can access the Colleges of Education admission website and proceed to fill out the online application form following specific guidelines.

During the application process, applicants are required to select three Colleges of their preference for their Program of study, along with an accompanying choice of Ghanaian Language.

 

 

Guidelines for College of Education Admission Application

Applicants are required to utilize the provided Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access the Colleges of Education admission website: admission.coeportal.edu.gh.

They must adhere to specific guidelines to accurately fill out the online application form.

Prior to completing the application form, it is strongly advised that applicants thoroughly read and comprehend all relevant instructions, particularly regarding the programs offered in a specific college.

Applicants should be mindful that incomplete application forms will not be processed, thus ensuring all sections are properly filled out is crucial.

During the application process, applicants are prompted to select their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences among three Colleges of Education, in the order of their preference for the desired program of study. Additionally, they must choose one of the Ghanaian Languages offered in a particular college.

 

After completing the online application form, an applicant will need to print a copy which should be sent with one passport photograph and a copy/copies of their results slip(s) (where available) by EMS priority envelope obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and addressed to: The Principal of the applicant’s first College of choice.

Applicants will be notified of the receipt of their applications by SMS (text message) and should therefore provide correct and reliable mobile phone numbers when completing the application form online.

Applicants will also receive admission offer notifications by SMS and those who do not receive such notifications may understand it to mean that their applications were not successful.

Applicants are to note that the Colleges of Education will cross-check their results from the West African Examinations Council as part of the admission process. Applicants found to have submitted fake or falsified documents in support of their applications will be made to face the legal consequences of their actions.

It is crucial for applicants to take note that each of the forty-six (46) public Colleges of Education is affiliated with the following listed public Universities. Upon successful completion of their course of study, students will be awarded certificates by the respective affiliate University.
