On March 1st, 2024, St. Vincent College of Education proudly inducted a cohort of two hundred and three (203) enthusiastic student teachers, marking the beginning of their journey towards becoming educators.
This marks the eighth cohort to be matriculated at St. Vincent College of Education.
The event was graced by esteemed individuals such as the UDS V.C. representative, Dr. Amadu Musah, the MCE for Yendi Municipal, Hon Mohammed Harun, Bishop Sowah Boi Nai who served as council chair, and the principal, Dr. Erasmus K Norviewu Motty.
Dr. Abudu excitedly discussed the launch of the new portal system, which was well-received by the trainees. Additionally, he touched upon the university’s proposal to install CCTV cameras in exam rooms across the different colleges.
The principal shared the college’s humble beginnings on September 15, 2011, with an initial enrollment of 183 students, consisting of 121 males and 62 females. The dedicated tutors were officially inaugurated in February 2016.
The principal revealed that the college is now supported by a team of 37 tutors and 98 non-teaching staff members. Additionally, there are currently 799 trainees enrolled, comprising 455 males and 344 females. The principal urged the students to make the most of this opportunity, emphasizing that many applicants did not have the chance to be admitted.
He advised the 203 matriculated trainees to refrain from drug abuse.
