Operation Own your Business” Alan Promises to create 3 million jobs

Alan Kyerematen, the founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has unveiled a visionary plan to create three million jobs for Ghanaian youth through his “Operation Own Your Business” initiative. This ambitious proposal, a cornerstone of his presidential campaign, empowers young graduates to become entrepreneurs by providing financial support to start their own businesses. Kyerematen emphasized the pivotal role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and job creation, asserting that this initiative will unlock the potential of young Ghanaians.

“Empowering our youth to become business owners is crucial for our nation’s economic future,” Kyerematen stressed.

In addition to financial support, Kyerematen proposed a mandatory apprenticeship and training program for all Senior High School graduates. This comprehensive initiative aims to equip young people with essential skills through at least six months of training, preparing them for the job market or entrepreneurial ventures. “Our youth need the right skills to succeed in today’s competitive job market, and this training will provide them with a solid foundation,” he said.

Addressing national security concerns, Kyerematen pledged to offer free military, police, and security service training to graduates who choose to join Ghana’s security reserves. This initiative strengthens national security capabilities while providing valuable career opportunities for young people interested in public service. “By offering this training, we are ensuring that our youth have the opportunity to serve their country while gaining valuable skills,” Kyerematen noted.

Kyerematen also outlined his plan to tackle unemployment in the health sector by establishing community hospitals owned and operated by the private sector and healthcare workers. This approach provides quality healthcare for all Ghanaians while creating job opportunities for health professionals. “By establishing community hospitals, we are addressing health sector unemployment and ensuring quality care for every Ghanaian,” he stated.
