The GWR confirmed that the individual in question does not possess the title and the certificate in question is not issued by them. The genuine record holder is Alan Fisher from Ireland, who achieved the remarkable feat of the longest cooking marathon (individual) lasting 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds in Matsue, Shimane, Japan, from 28 September to 3 October 2023.

In a poignant interview with GHOne TV, Chef Smith humbly offered his heartfelt apology to the people of Ghana, dropping to his knees with tears streaming down his face.

In a moving confession, Chef Smith expressed that his actions were a desperate act of survival and not meant to bring shame upon the nation.

Earlier today, Leticia Martekie Sankah, the assistant of Chef Smith, took to the public forum to issue a heartfelt apology to Ghanaians after it was uncovered that the chef had falsified his Guinness World Record certificate.

Expressing her deep regret, Leticia shared that she had wholeheartedly believed she was assisting a friend in a sincere pursuit of a noteworthy achievement, all while hoping to highlight her own culinary talents.

With humility, she acknowledged the inadvertent role she played in the deception and took complete accountability for her involvement in the unfortunate incident.
